Hey everyone! Jake here!

It is that time again where I share to you some of the Stunning YouTube Videos I have across the internet in May. To get on this list they had to be inspiring, emotional or funny. So if yours falls under any of these categories you may see it on the list in the near future.

So here we go. Here is the selection for May.

Video 1: ‘Look Up’ by Gary Turk
‘Look Up’ is a beautifully haunting spoken word by Gary Turk. It looks out how modern day society has changed the way in which we interact with one another. With the increasingly presence of social media we may find ourselves in the position where we only talk to each other through the internet, rather than face to face. So there is a chance that we could miss out on forming real lifelong friendship or romances that we could of had if we met them in real life.
As many of you know I am great fan of writing poetry. What Gary has produced is simply incredible. So if one day my work gets to his level I will be immensely proud.

Video 2: ‘Honest Trailers- The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ by Screen Junkies
As stated earlier you can get mentioned here if you produce funny videos. This is exactly what Screen Junkies does with their ‘Honest Trailers’. These are insightfully clever features that look a movie and interpret it in a more controversial yet more truthful way.
Admittedly I have watched a number of these videos this month. One which is particularly brilliant was their commentary on ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’. They have certainly done a great job in recognising the highlights and flaws of the adapted fantasy novel by J. R. R. Tolkien. One of my highlights is the fact there are so many character names to remember, it almost becomes like a test. Please do give Screen Junkies’ work a watch. It is well edited and certainly hilarious.

Video 3: ‘#ViolenceIsViolence: Domestic abuse advert Mankind’ by ManKindInitiative
It takes a lot to shock me, but this video by ManKindInitiative has certainly given it a go. The charity experimented to see whether the public would react differently to two domestic abuse cases. The first one shows a woman being attacked by a man, whilst the second one switches their roles around. Without revealing too much I can tell you that the results are deeply saddening.
We as a society should not tolerate violence, no matter the circumstances involved. To get this message across please do watch and share this video if you have not done so already. It is for a great cause. Thank you in advance.

    1. Did you? Well I had to choose the experiment by Mankind Initiative as it deeply shocking to see how some of the public perceive certain forms of violence. Thanks very much for posting!
